Access Codes:

Access codes provide a system by which you can further lock down who can dial local/ 10 digit, long distance and international calls by requiring the use of a code prefix before the number is dialed. If you are going to use access codes you should leave the outgoing route unchecked in the outgoing call access tab for the zone. If you have a outgoing route checked and a access code(s) set for the same route the user will be able to call with or without the access code prefix.

Each access code has the following settings:

Value
Code

The code must be prefixed before the number dialed for a given route (local/10 digit, Long Distance or International)

Name

Just for noting who each code is assigned to

Local

be used for local/10 digit dialing

Long Distance

Setting this to “yes” will enable the access code tobe used for long distance dialing.

International

Setting this to “yes” will enable the access code to be used for international dialing.

Note: If you wish to require an access code for toll free number leave it unchecked in the outgoing access tab and create access code with long distance set to yes.

Contact Groups

Contact groups are used by both the Synergy-IPV Station Manager as well as the CONTACTS button that can be configured on any Aastra Endpoint. Each zone can have as many contact groups as are needed but Aastra endpoint will only display the first 50 on the phones. The "Imported" contact group is automatically made and is used by the Synergy-IPV Station Manager when importing contacts from outlook , cell phones or other VCARD compatible systems.

Email Notification

You can configure the text for voicemail notification. There are two notification types LONG or notification with attach message as a WAV file or SHORT used for notification as well as SMS notification to cell phones. Field What its for
LAN Side Host This is the IP address of the Active Directroy Server when access from the LAN.
Public Host This is the public IP address that has port forwarding enabled to the Active Directroy Server inside the LAN.
Protocol Method The authentication method used aginsted the Active Directory server. Simple LDAP provides now encryption password/usernames are sent in plan text. Recommend only for testing and not for production use. LDAP over SSL all communications with the Active Directory server will be done in SSL providing an encrypted an secure connection for authentication.
Distinguished Name (DN)
User Domain This is the full domain the users use to login to the network example user@mydomain.local
Translate Because some Active Directory deployments use a .local we have enabled a translate function which allows users to use a different domain name with there user name and the authentication system will translate it into the correct user domain. For example a user might login with joe@mycompany.local in the office and have an email like joe@mycompany.com with translate it possible to use the joe@mycompany.com as the username without mycompany.com having to be pointed to/mapped to mycompany.local.
